SSVM was formed during Spring 2015 as a non-profit voluntary organisation, by a group of like-minded individuals with a mission to providing a place of worship / practice yoga and the Vedic culture. Until this time, individuals and families had to travel upto 2 hours to offer prayers and worship at the Temples in London and Birmingham.
SSVM has provided the opportunity to bridge this gap, and has attracted more people not only from Milton Keynes but also from Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire and other parts of Buckinghamshire.

Over 3.2k people vist our temple annually since our inception in Sept’15, initially in the makeshift temple at the Milton Keynes Hindu Association, with an average of 65 people per week over 52 weeks throughout the year.
We have conducted a number of courses on classical Music and traditional dance over this period and also have had a music festival in Sept’16. Vedic chants and Bhajans have been regularly performed to bring harmony within the community.

SSVM committee takes feedback from the community and strives continuously to improve their services. Our dedicated committee members, having varied backgrounds – from university professor to teachers, IT professionals and doctors, are self motivated, with the common goal of “Service to Humanity” as their motto, and serve as the backbone of the SSVM and to its weekly activities.
